Karen O and the Kids - Where the Wild Things Are

Today the soundtrack for Where The Wild Things Are comes out, featuring original songs by Karen O and the Kids. I think this first single, All is Love is pretty cute. Check it out for yourself, below and let me know what you think.

Getting Close to Nothing - Sister George

There was a UK video zine documentary put out in 1994 called "Getting Close To Nothing." But the question is, where can I get a coy of this video?!?

Here's a clip of Sister George.  I don't know a lot about this band, but would like to learn and hear more.  Do you know anything about them?

The Gits Movie

In the early 90's my mum told me about a band called The Gits. She saw a clip of them on Unsolved Mysteries and knew I would love the band.

Last summer I had the opportunity to go to the NYC movie premiere of The Gits Movie and the accompanying show. The movie is amazing, and definitely worth watching. The Gits are one of my favorite bands. Thanks mum!

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains

This flick was originally released in 1981, but Rhino recently put it out on DVD for those of us who missed it the first time around. Three young girls (Diane Lane, Laura Dern and Marin Kanter) start a punk band whose motto is "We don't put out!" At times it is a little cheesy (there is the classic story of 15 minutes of fame and then the fading away) BUT it is worth watching it for sure! And for you Sex Pistols fans, Steve Jones and Paul Cook are in it, and for the Clash fans, Paul Simonon is in it too!
