AMA's no Female Rapper/Hip Hop Category...

I'm not into music award shows (for obvious reasons) but I was upset when I was listening to the AMA categories this morning and realized that there was not a female rapper/hip-hop artist category.  Apparently the American Music Awards eliminated this category in 2006. What are your thoughts on this?
