Sonic Youth on Gossip Girl

According to Rolling Stone, Sonic Youth will be performing their 1986 song Starpower on Gossip Girl. Thurston Moore and Jemina Pearl (Be Your Own Pet) covered Sheena is a Punk Rocker previously on the CW series, heard below.

Apparently Moore was showing scenes from Gossip Girl playing solo gigs last year, and the executive producer of the show, Stephanie Savage, reached out to him. I saw Thurston Moore open up for Roky Erickson last year, and missed and/or didn't notice the Gossip Girl footage.
